Lebanon’s famous corniche, or pedestrian promenade, is usually dotted with street vendors such as the one depicted in this design. They hoist Lebanese flags on their stations, and snap their tongs rhythmically as they shout “Aranees, Aranees”, translating to “corn on the cob”; to attract customers. This design is a nod to those vendors who pump life and vigor into the streets of Beirut.
